Last week the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale launched its advocacy video at an event with key stakeholders at Quarry Farm. Titled ‘Our Plan for our Growing Community’, the video highlights six key projects that are needed to support the Byford region’s rapid growth.
Mentioned projects:
- Extending the existing Tonkin Highway from Thomas Road in Byford to the South Western Highway in Mundijong.
- The new Byford train station to be located in the Byford town centre.
- Providing a community sporting facility at Kiernan Park.
- Improving the Shire’s road network through the Hypergrowth Network Implementation project.
- Upgrading walking trails to a world-class standard.
- Building a nature splash park in the heart of Byford at Bill Hicks Reserve.
The video forms part of the Shire’s advocacy strategy to secure external funding to deliver these critical infrastructure projects.
Through partnerships, it can make these critical projects a reality and deliver social, environmental and economic benefits for the local community, the Peel region and WA.
